Sights of Dubai - by Craig Hill

Hatta Rock Pools

July 22nd 2007 02:56
Hatta, an enclave of Dubai nestled in the Hajar Mountains, is a great weekend getaway. The main attractions are its relatively cool, dry climate, the mountain scenery, and the magnificent Hatta rock pools.

It's an amazing experience to swim through the narrow rock corridors of this miniature canyon, roaring year-round with plunging waterfalls.

Dubai Hatta Rock Pools UAE

Nestled in the varied crags of the Hajar Mountains, the Hatta Rock Pools unfold its rocky corridors with bursting waterfalls and turquoise pools. Venture through the narrow passageways to find spring-fed pools that are yet to be discovered. Only half an hour from the ancient village of Hatta, this oasis is a hidden gem.

About an hour's drive from cosmopolitan Dubai and a 10-minute drive from Oman, an eighty acre, luxury oasis of soul-soothing greenery, tranquillity and relaxation awaits. Nestled in the Hajar Mountains, this member of Relais et Chateaux, is the perfect destination for a great getaway, corporate meetings and incentive stays.

The breathtaking mountain scenery and the peaceful seclusion of the hotel guarantee a unique experience.
The property features fifty individual chalet style rooms and suites with sit-out patios overlooking the breathtaking mountain scenery. The original swimming pool is located in front of the hotel, while the beautiful rock pool complex is set in a secluded landscaped garden. Both pools are temperature-controlled for year-round enjoyment.

On site facilities include a fine dining restaurant and an open air restaurant, overlooking one of the hotel's pools, bars, conference facilities, gift shop, beauty salon, a cross-country golf course, floodlit tennis courts, archery and clay pigeon shooting. Exciting guided four-wheel-drive mountain and desert safaris are also available.

Craig,

Dubai fascinates me with its contrasts in customs and cultre. Old world and new together in poverty and opulence. I've heard there are many shopping malls there too *chuckle* but this really gets my attention.

I hope to be ale to swim here one year, that water looks so lovely and refreshing.
