The Palm Islands Dubai

November 30th 2008 22:48 Link: craighill.net/2008/11/30/palm-islands-dubai/ The Palm Islands are the world's three largest man-made islands, built in the shape of palm trees. They add 120 km to Dubai's coastline, and are so large they can be seen from space with the naked eye.

The project is being undertaken by Al Nakheel Properties (Nakheel Corporation), which is also the company planning the Nakheel Tower, planned to be the world's tallest building at over one kilometre high. Al Nakheel is also responsible for the man-made islands in the shape of the world.
